This morning’s Lowell Sun has former Superintendent Spencer Mullin’s response to accusations that he provided early professional status to friends prior to his recent retirement.
It is his contention that these three teachers had excellent credentials, and it was “a good faith effort to obtain and retain the services of valued teachers with impeccable credentials.”

You basically have two candidates challenging each other, Mike Miles and May Paquette, and Dr Mike McNamara being pulled in to the discussion (with what looks like the lucky 3rd candidate position).

The first item during new business of the Dracut School Committee meeting was an amendment to the contract for Superintendent Elaine Espindle.
This amendment was to provide indemnification for her from anyone who tries to sue her for performing her legal duties.
Hmmm.. this must mean there is something she needs to do that someone may challenge… [...]

I stopped by the Dracut Junior High School Science Fair this evening to catch some of the projects and chat with friends.
I learned quite a bit..  rock candy doesn’t grow well in Dracut water, but does in bottled water. Hey Gary, any idea what your doing to the water that stops crystallization?

Dracut is ahead of the game when it comes to coming up with a plan for dealing with bullying in our district.
Superintendent Elaine Espindle reported to the School Committee during their last meeting that the Dracut Public Schools is continuing their efforts to address the issue of bullying.
