The owners of three establishments in town were before the Board of Selectmen this week to answer for failing a police sting where a teen was sent into their stores to purchase alcohol.

Dracut Police detectives Gregg Byam and Megan Courtemanche appeared before the selectmen with evidence in hand — six-packs of Budweiser. The beer was purchased on May 23 by an underage cooperating witness, who did not appear at the hearing.
Thirteen other stores that sell alcohol were tested in the operation and refused to sell alcohol to the underage witness.
