Billerica.. How will it turn out?
By Shawn on Nov 19, 2012 in Community
The Town meeting in Billerica voted to spend 14 Million dollars to rearrange the traffic pattern in Billerica Center back to a straight line through the center.
A number of residents did not like this, so raised enough signatures to put it to ballot.
Today is the vote.
Unbeknownst to most Billerica voters, the Town Manager and town leaders have called for those in favor of the change to stay home today, as a 20% turnout is required for the vote to overturn the town meeting vote.
Surprisingly, 20% has turned out.. and because they are mostly voters against the change to Billerica Center, the town leaders are panicking.
I hear they are contacting, via the Superintendents office, the teachers in town to try to get them out now.

And here i thought the only way was to get your way was to bring overrides back time after time till you get what you want. I smell more then one rat in this Billerica project. Just my belief. Look at Dracut with the town hall. Land all over town we could use to build. But no we have to buy peoples lots and homes. Unbelieveable!!!!!!!!
