Housing Authority Informational Mtg Tuesday Eve
By Shawn on Oct 15, 2012 in Community
There is a public meeting Tuesday evening, the 16th at 7:00 p.m. at Harmony Hall.
Dracut Housing is looking to purchase land to build more elderly housing. It is much needed. There is a waiting list of well over 150 people.
The land would hold presumptively 50-60 units. Although funding to build is a way off getting the land is our first step. Your support is much needed and greatly appreciated.

Hi Shaun. This property is being purchased by the town with CPA funds, not the Dracut Housing directly. As a member of the Community Preservation Committee I hope that this isn’t forgotten. This is a perfect example of what the CPA is all about, and the great projects that it can provide.

Thanks Jesse, that is true.
And I believe the item is on the town meeting warrant for this November for the townspeople to vote on.

I was glad to be there to speak in support of this wonderful project. Up to 60 units of senior housing in Dracut Center! On the bus line, near medical center, town hall, library, banks and shops! Great project!! Kudos to all involved! Thanks to the Richardson family on Bridge Street for embracing the project!!

It does look like a good location for those reasons. 60 units, plus another 40 units in the new Koravos/Campbell project.. we should soon be reaching that 10% number.

Yes, article #2 I believe. We will be presenting the project to the selectman for their recommendation tues. That will be another opportunity for people to see it on tv too.
