Selectmen Meeting tonight : Quinn Bill on the Agenda?

I am told that at the end of the last Board of Selectmen meeting the members came out of executive session and instead of adjourning as they said they were going to, they announced that they had voted to have Dracut take up the state’s portion of funding the Quinn bill.

Its hard to tell whether it is true, because I am told that the recorders were off because nobody expected anything to happen after the executive session.

Selectman George Malliaros, I am told, spoke negatively to the vote and a number of police officers in attendance were not happy campers.

Selectmen Zimini, DiRocco and Richardson had voted in favor of the spending (though I don’t remember DiRocco being in attendance that night), while Malliaros voted against (and Cox abstained because of a conflict).

I guess the question is whether the topic will be on the agenda for tonight’s meeting so that the townspeople will have the opportunity for the members to explain their votes.  We need to hear the facts rather than try to put together through second hand what occurred here.

As of now, its not on the agenda posted at the new town website.
