Tony and Ann’s Pizza.. open?
By Shawn on Jan 8, 2010 in Local Businesses
Its not officially open yet, but we’re seeing some traffic has started and the owners are scheduled to present their business to the Board of Selectmen this Tuesday evening.
I’m sure the owners are doing a soft opening, starting to get the word out that they are there before an official grand opening.
Before the traffic takes over, check em out and see what its all about.
Everyone I talk to who knows pizza has been looking forward to this pizza shop opening in Dracut.
Its over on Broadway, in the same building as Big Daddy’s ice cream shop across from Broadway Convenience.

Could not believe the line at Tony and Ann’s. Went there around 10:45 this morning, there must have been over 40 people waiting for the 11:00am opening and more coming.

Yes the place is busy but… On 1/23 I ordered pizza and paid for it at 3pm and was told to come back at 6pm to pick up due to the demand. I return at 6pm to get the pizza and I am told that they are closed and my order had not been made due to an emergency. Meanwhile there are at a minimum of 60 orders not made and they are not going to fulfill their responsibility. I will say that they are lacking immensely on service and simple business practices. I do not live in the area and did not appreciate their decision. They need more employees and more organization, one person taking the orders and cashiering is ridiculous. Its not like they have not seen the lines forming. When are they going to respond and become proactive???? Not impressed at all …Possibly good pizza.. but no business sense and thats putting it mildly

Hi Dale,
Not sure 100% about your story and may need to confirm it with Maryann. I did not recall us having a 3 hour wait at all on Saturday…as a matter of fact I know we were ahead of the game at one point. We are a family business. So in that respect, when a member of the family has 48 hours to live…and we find that out at 5pm…we acted upon it. Sorry if that is in bad form but that is how it will continue to be. Most people understood the circumstance (by the way, she made it only 24 of them hours).
Our customer service is extremely important. By 6:00 most of us had left. I was gone by 5:10. My father-in-law was gone before me. We had 13 people working on Saturday. Circumstances dictated the outcome of the day. We gladly refunded money. We apologized. Most understood.
I will assume from your not living in the area that you were new to Tony and Ann’s? Please keep in mind that this was our 7th day in business after an 8 year break. So to say we have “no business sense and that’s putting it nicely”…that’s just plain wrong. I can accept your criticism. But it is wrong.
And further…its the same format that worked for 49 years in Chelmsford where operated until 2002.
Give it a shot in a few weeks once things settle down. If you’re not happy with the results then, I guess it just isn’t meant to be. We are striving everyday to improve our customer experience. To reduce wait times. To expedite orders. You just appened to catch us when everything went wrong and many of us had left.
Sorry if that leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
Thank you

Hello Paul,
Sorry to learn about your loss… Only thing I’m going to say is that the time is 100% correct. I did place my order at 3pm and was told to come back at 6pm to pick up. I’m sure that you did confirm this with Maryann. Anyhow I still feel that you need more than one person working the front.. that is taking orders (cashiering) and expediting everything up front. I possibly will check it out, but not in any rush
