Fred Simon and Warren Shaw are on the air announcing at this moment that the 980 WCAP efforts towards raising money for the Greater Lowell Salvation Army succeeded once again in beating its annual goal.
With a goal of $98,000, the final totals have come in. Altogether, we raised $102,157.62.

I was reminded by Brian about a prediction by Jim O’Loughlin last year:
James O’Loughlin, Dracut selectman: “I’m not saying who or for what reason, but somebody from Dracut will receive national recognition.” He also predicts also that the Lowell political community will be “reeling by an unexpected resignation.”

Pick up this morning’s Lowell Sun to read an editorial that supports the retaining of Elaine Espindle for the interim Superintendent position.
This is no surprise, as the Sun has had a long history of having great respect for Espindle, and was just as dissappointed with Mullin as the rest of the press.

Following a short discussion, where member Ron Mercier and Dr Mike McNamara preferred continuing the search process for an interim Superintendent via interviews and then a selection, the board voted 4 to1 with Mercier the only member voting against to select and start negotiations with former Superintendent Elaine Espindle for the position of interim Superintendent.
