4th of July Celebration looks like its on

I am told that the plans are in the works for a party for Independence Day this year.
Organizers have been working the community to come up with donations to fund a band, and I understand that the Lions Club has been offered the opportunity to set up the refreshment stand to support the event.
The actual date is still not chosen.. It will be either Thursday the 2nd or Friday the 3rd.
So far, I am told that we will have the band “Brandy,” playing at the School Complex grounds from 7-9 pm.
Donations are sorely needed to make this happen. The band, police, food, all cost money.. so anyone who can help please contact the Selectmen’s office at 978 452-1908 and be generous.
So far, we cannot afford to have fireworks. Most of the businesses that we would normally ask for donations from to fund them are just having too tight a year in this economy to make the needed donations (this would cost over $5000.00).
