Dracut loses arbitration re:Maddox

Again, I this is one reason I hate civil service. Then again, the employees do need somewhere to go to when treated wrongly.

An officer was out sick, and it sounds like the administration at the police department did not treat her return according to the rules agreed upon between the admin and the union.

It feels like there is more to this than being said here, and maybe I’ll ask around a little more later (when I am well myself).

I do know that when I am out of work for 3 days or more, I have to go through a lot of process to return.. I just don’t understand the requirement to provide “nature or symptoms of her illness when requesting a sick day in the future.”

It sounds fishy.. but then again, we have an administration trying to save on overtime. This is going to continue to be a bigger issue in the future as budgets continue to tighten.

So, Dracut takes a hit here, and the Police Department once again does the same.

Not a banner day for Dracut.
