Did Colleen go too far supporting Rogers?

That’s the question, and Brian picked up on it pretty well over at his Dracut Politics blog:

The question of the day is whether DeLeo will punish those who supported Rodgers like Tom Finneran did in 1996 when the supporters of Richard Voke were banished to the basement and lowly committees. We shall see.

After having been on the “wrong” side with DiMasi, I thought Colleen would stand back and be less vocal during this house leader selection.

Instead, she was out there very vocally supporting Rogers, to the point where it sounded like she was connecting DeLeo to all the DiMasi mess.

She may be right. She was careful not to actually accuse, but to ask for a delay so that the facts could be reviewed by everyone before a vote.

During an interview on 980 WCAP this week she did say that under DiMasi she felt more able to vote the way she thought was right and not be under pressure from leadership to vote one way or another.

Personally, I’ve liked her votes much more since Finneran left. She’s been much more moderate and even to the conservative side of arguments. From that point of view, I’m glad she took this stand.

As to repercussions, I agree with Brian.. We shall see.
