Thanksgiving Charity work continues throughout Region
By admin on Nov 23, 2008 in Dracut
Last week on 980 WCAP, we heard an interview with Eli from Dracut House of Pizza explaining their Project Helping Hands.. their annual service project to provide Thanksgiving dinners to over a thousand families in the Greater Lowell area.
Hannafords has been running an ad lately as well, describing their food bank project. They have a stack of boxed dinners as well that you can purchase for $10.00, and they will deliver it to a local food bank. I did see the stack at the store this morning, but no indication as to which food bank would recieve the items. I still recommend donating food and cash directly as well to the Dracut Food pantry.
Over at the Salvation Army this week, I ran into Dracut’s Tom and Brenda Bomil as they were volunteering to help organize and package thousands of Thanksgiving Dinner baskets as well. A huge truckload had recently arrived from the McCarthy Middle School in Chelmsford and a team was working to organize and distribute that food.
As the holiday season continues, we can only continue to recommend that everyone helps out with projects that help the less fortunate.
Efforts continue on preparing for the December 13th 980 WCAP Salvation Army radiothon as well.. to help out, just contact me through the contact form above, or call the Salvation Army in Lowell at : (978) 458-3396
