New Blog in Town
By Shawn on Nov 10, 2008 in Dracut, Featured
I’ve been regularly reading Brian Flaherty’s DracutMusings blog since he started five or six months ago. What started out as a small family and personal blog, quickly evolved into one where he was making interesting statements on state and federal political issues.
He is now starting a new blog that will focus directly on Dracut politics.. again, trying to focus on facts and providing info as a service to the community and not as a gossip or rumor mill.
In his DracutMusing’s blog, Brian announces this endeavor:
I don’t feel enough attention is paid to local politics and government so my new blog will be solely focused to the political life of Dracut. My second blog, Dracut Politics, will be less partisan than this one and will be more of a resource for residents and politicos.
I will of course continue this blog as I have a lot of fun with it. Thank you for your continued support and readership.
Brian wrote me yesterday, wanting to make sure I understood that he was not “competing” or creating some sort of rivalry. I quickly noted back to him that I think his doing this is a great idea. The more people paying attention and commenting on town government can only continue to make it better.
From Brian:
Thanks for all your help this past summer in helping me launch my blog, Dracut Musings. Over the course of the year, it kind of evolved into a blog on state and national politics with very little discussion of Dracut.
So, I decided to start a second blog devoted entirely to Dracut politics and government. I certainly do not want to compete with Dracut Forum, I just wanted to add another voice to the discussion. I hope you don’t see it as moving in on your turf.
I admire your blog and read it every time there is a new posting. But,I have gotten the local political bug lately and wanted to devote some time to it.
Congratulations to Brian on this new endeavor, and I encourage everyone to add his new http://dracutpolitics.blogspot.com/ to their regular blog reading.

Thank you Shawn for mentioning this. I hope Dracut Politics, like Dracut Forum, is a resource for the people of Dracut to stay on top of local government and politics. I think people are looking to be engaged in government and the political scene and I hope my blog helps with that.
If my blog can be of service to anyone in the community (elected officials, town employees, etc). please feel free to e-mail me at dracutpolitics@yahoo.com
