Christmas Season has begun

The annual Salvation Army of Lowell Christmas Castle breakfast was held yesterday at the Doubletree Hotel in Lowell. It was a very well attended event.
I spoke with a number of the leaders in this group, who all indicated the great increase in those who are in need this year.
Dracut’s own Kevin Willett told me that the local Salvation Army groups have been directed to turn nobody away this year. The economy is just too tough, and there are too many in need. Thus the need for support is much greater.
The work that a number of volunteers are doing to prepare for the Radiothon (to be held December 13th) has been underway for months. A team meets regularly.. contact me if you would like to get involved.
Kevin also asked that I put it out there that the army has a great need for people to ring the bells at locations throughout the area for the next couple months.
Usually, this involves stints of only about 2 hours at a time. Very little effort is needed, and you will feel great about helping others.
To volunteer for this, contact Tom Bomil, or you can reach Kevin through the Salvation Army in Lowell at 978-458-3396.
