Town Meeting Monday.. »

The Lowell Sun reports that we are once again afraid that we will not meet a Town Meeting quorum next week.
With very few items on the warrant, there is little to draw people out other than the feasibility study article.
Finance committee chair Gary Marsella spoke with us last Saturday on 980 WCAP about discussions that [...]

Dracut Food Pantry.. Make a Difference »

A reminder that today is Make a Difference Day, and the Dracut Food Pantry is working hard to make a difference in our community.
For those looking to make a food donation, there are still drop-off boxes throughout the town (fire stations, etc).. and if you want to make a cash donation you can mail a [...]

The Law of Unexpected Consequences »

In a quest to rally an army of support, the leaders of the school administration and school committee have been going to every school function.. curriculum nights and PTO meetings to expain the dire need for updates to the high school.
And they’ve done a good job.
The catwalk needs repairs, the windows leak, the gym and [...]

A call for Press Integrity.. »

I read this column this morning by Orson Scott Card (a democrat, even) and was stunned.
His indictment of the mainstream press is clearly laid out, highlighting their decision to choose Obama in the election.. and thus not cover stories that would harm him.
The creation of the “hate Bush” culture, allowing major Democrat leaders to make statements [...]

Yes on 2.. a first Step »

Back in late July and early August, a Suffolk University Poll showed over 70% in favor of the decriminalization of small amounts of marajiuana in Massachusetts.
Question 2 on November’s ballot, being overshadowed by the income tax question, could be a first step in our state towards making a true change in this endless, expensive, losing [...]

Dracut Food Pantry Sponsoring “Make a Difference” Food Drive on Saturday »

DRACUT – Without any major food drives since the spring, the Dracut Food Pantry Board of Directors is sponsoring a food drive on nationwide “Make a Difference Day”, Saturday, October 25.
The drive will take place as the pantry is open for Dracut families in need, meaning that as the shelves dwindle from the more than 100 families expected, the people [...]

Town Meeting Warrant available »

The Town Clerk has posted the Nov 3 Town Meeting Warrant on the town website.
I notice a couple returns from the spring town meeting, a request to add or increase the fee to tax demands (probably ok, but I hate to add new fees and taxes), the school feasibility study item is there…
But what is [...]

Drug investigation by Dracut Police »

I’m not sure where this will go.
The Dracut Police will now do an investigation of the missing drugs from years ago.
Hopefully, they will come to some conclusion.
Rumors have floated for years, many are adamant that there are no Dracut Police involved.
I think its too late to prove either way.
The whole thing makes Dracut look bad, [...]
