Front Row, on DATV

George Papoulias has started a new show on Dracut Access Television (DATV) catering to the sports crowd here in Dracut.
Front Row is a 30 to 60 minute program recapping sports happenings around the NFL, Major League Baseball and the NBA. Also, Front Row connects local viewers with local sports teams as George collaborates with performers and representatives of near-by sports organizations.
Some of the collaborations include interviews with members of the Lowell Devils & Manchester Monarchs roster and members of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats front office. Previously, Front Row has featured a Devils highlight video and in the future, will feature one concentrating on the Fisher Cats.
George is a Dracut High School graduate who later completed a Ba
chelor of Arts in Communications from Rivier College. He says his interest in TV production & broadcasting began from his participation in Leo McMahon’s TV Production courses here in town.
Working part time at DATV, George feels he is gaining great experience regarding television production. He is often seen producing the local School Committee and Board of Selectmen’s meetings, along with the rest of our new DATV production team.
Front Row utilizes a number of different types of formats. These include a Sports Center side-graphic rundown, to the Around the Horn debate featuring Lowell Sun reporters to a Front Row mock award segment, praising certain NBA players for excelling in certain categories.
In the coming weeks, George hopes to discuss and recap this year’s Major League Baseball offseason by summarizing acquisitions & trades. The show will also discuss baseball teams’ improvements and preview the upcoming 2008 season.
Along with George, the program is co-hosted by Chris Papoulias and Gary Grant.
Front Row airs weekly on Dracut Access Television Channel 8 Tuesdays at 7:00pm, Wednesdays at 5:30pm, Thursdays at 11:30am, Fridays & Saturdays at 10:00pm.
It also airs on Lowell Telecommunications Corporation ch.8 Thursdays at 7:00pm and Saturdays at 4:00pm.
