It looked like rain at first, but the sky cleared in time for this year’s Memorial Day Parade.
I only got as far as Hannafords this year (parking at the annex seemed the best move, to be able to get out later).
I got some pictures of setup over at the Greenmont, and then found a Verizon [...]

As you know, Memorial Day is a time to honor deceased American Veterans. Each year after the parade there is a ceremony at the monument in the High School parking lot. Generally there is a guest speaker, taps and the National Anthem is played, and veterans who’ve died the previous year are recognized. [...]

Hmm.. no mention of the name, but it is clear that outgoing Librarian Susan Schwarz is referring to Dracut Forum when she mentions an outside web site in her latest article in the Valley Dispatch.
The info did get to me fairly quickly and I’m sure she never was too happy with my support of the [...]

I wish I could [...]

At last week’s Board of Selectman’s meeting, a letter was read from the new Town Moderator, Gary McCarthy, asking the Selectmen to form a new temporary committee to work on “revitalizing” the Town Meeting in Dracut.
An announcement is on the Town Web Site calling for volunteers to join this committee.
Something must be done to increase [...]

DRACUT — It has been seven months since skateboarders have been able to grind, ollie or carve on the ramps at the Dracut Skateboard Park on Pleasant Street.
The park was closed in October, a mere two months after it opened. Reports of vandalism, disorderly behavior, drugs and alcohol forced the premature [...]

As decided by the Dracut Recreation Commission earlier this month, the Dracut Skate Park is due to reopen for skaters in early June.
Current plans are to have a signup night on June 7th, with the park opening for a few weekends at first, and then open full time following the end of the Dracut school [...]
