It looked like rain at first, but the sky cleared in time for this year’s Memorial Day Parade.

As you know, Memorial Day is a time to honor deceased American Veterans. Each year after the parade there is a ceremony at the monument in the High School parking lot. Generally there is a guest speaker, taps and the National Anthem is played, and veterans who’ve died the previous year are recognized. [...]

At last week’s Board of Selectman’s meeting, a letter was read from the new Town Moderator, Gary McCarthy, asking the Selectmen to form a new temporary committee to work on “revitalizing” the Town Meeting in Dracut.
An announcement is on the Town Web Site calling for volunteers to join this committee.
