LOWELL — Dracut selectman candidate George Malliaros was slightly injured yesterday afternoon in a four-car accident on Dutton Street.
Malliaros’ new black Lexus was at a stop light about 1:50 p.m., when it was struck by a woman driving a beige Toyota Camry, according to police. Malliaros’ car was pushed into a maroon Infinity, which then struck a Shaw Farm’s milk and ice cream truck.
Malliaros was complaining of neck and arm pain and was taken to a local hospital by ambulance, where he was treated and later released. The driver of the Infinity also was taken to a hospital after complaining of neck pain. No life-threatening injuries were reported.
Lowell Police Officer Stephen Beland could not say how fast the Camry was traveling. But the collision destroyed Malliaros’ car, and pushed the Shaw farm truck forward “about four to five feet,” police said.
Jim Sheridan, driver of the Shaw Farm truck, said the Camry driver told him her brakes failed.
