High School Principal Retiring »

I see on the BostonWorks site that there is a posting for a new Principal for the Dracut High School:

Shaw becomes a Cartoon of Himself »

This morning’s Sunday Lowell Sun had a special treat for Dracut. Warren Shaw was the subject of Bob Conroy’s comic “Pink Slip”. Check out the graphic (as an Adobe pdf file) at:Warren Shaw in Conroys Pink Slip
We had Bob Conroy, the author and artist for the comic strip “Pink Slip”, on the show for a [...]

Lets Talk Senator Brown »

This is one guy who knows how to do what is right, and say what needs to be said.
If he were our Senator, I’ld be sending him a check.
The liberals over at Blue Mass Group are playing this up as some great failure of the “neocons” whatever that term means.
The same group who advocates freely [...]

Cunha talks about ABCC/Muldoons on WCAP »

Selectman Ken Cunha (candidate for reelection in the May election) joined us on WCAP’s Saturday Morning Live to discuss the recent response by the Massachusetts State Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission (ABCC) to reduce the punishment to Muldoon’s Liquors from a 30 day suspension to an effective 4 day suspension.
In the discussion, Cunha chatted with Warren [...]

Murphy Stays with Dracut.. but he WAS thier Choice. »

From the Lowell Sun Sunday Morning Column:
A Sun Staff Report
THE HIRING of Al Pare as the new football coach at Lowell High was more like smash-mouth football than a well-orchestrated, 95-yard drive to win the game.
Don’t be surprised if someone throws a red flag to challenge the whole affair.
Certainly, congratulations go out to Pare, for [...]

Interviews are done, Now Dracut Waits »

The interviews in Lowell for a new Football coach have been completed (as reported in the Lowell Sun).
Now we wait to see where the decision falls.
Update: Murphy withdrew from the competition, giving the position to Pare. The article hints at powerful lobbying (and possible dirty tricks) on behalf of Pare. Both are good guys, but [...]

Hey Verizon, Can you Hear me Now? »

Dracut’s Board of Selectman took the opportunity once again to challenge Verizon with regard to the pole that the town has requested be moved at the intersection of Broadway and Salem Roads.
Verizon has repeatedly come back to the board asking for permits and support on projects that they want the town to support.
In this one [...]

Frank-ly, I haven’t heard it said better »

From an article in this morning’s Boston Globe by Brian McGrory (of whom I rarely agree):
He’s right, on several fronts. Politics long ago lost any of its politesse. People no longer simply disagree; they vilify each other’s existence. They don’t debate, but assault, the more personal the better, facts and logic be damned.
Nowhere is this worse than [...]
